people

The fact that over two-thirds of our people are promoted from within says a good deal about how we like to grow our own.

As well as encouraging and rewarding personal development, dedicated teams of craft trainers (unique to eden) and catering specialists, ensure that our people are not only competent, but that they also have the confidence to provide friendly and professional service to each and every eden customer.

Eden is an equal opportunities employer; and everyone at eden is encouraged to excel.

Sheer Excellence

Words such as "passion" "commitment" and "motivation" really don't do justice to the outstanding achievements of Sian Pritchard.

As Cook In Charge at Ysgol Henblas, and Educatering Excellence Awards’ Primary School Caterer of the Year 2011, "Aunty Sian" as she is affectionately known, is an inspiration to us all.

With a keen eye on provenance, healthy eating, and team spirit, Sian has increased the take-up of school meals – from a lacklustre 23.5% in 2009, to an astonishing 76.5% and growing in 2012. Working in close cooperation with her Business Support Manager, the school’s Head Teacher, and enthusiastic parents, Sian’s new 'fresh cook' menus feature tasty, balanced and nutritious meals – using locally-sourced produce – all meeting the Welsh Assembly 'Appetite For Life' initiative. It’s a perfect example of how the immense efforts of one individual, in collaboration with others, can make such a huge difference to an entire community.

Tasty Little Morsels

The 2011 LACA Finishing Touches competition provided the perfect opportunity for Eden’s Julia Parish to show off her patisserie skills. With entries "getting better and better every year" Julia’s stunning array of perfectly formed Petit Fours had to be truly exceptional – to scoop this much-coveted, best in class, accolade.

A Cut Above The Rest

Since joining the company, a little over a year ago, our Food Safety Manager, Caroline Lee has presided over cuts of a very positive nature. 'Cutting The Risk' has sharpened our approach to safe working practices, by reducing knife-related injuries by well over 40%. As well as making vast improvements to the way in which we communicate and implement our health and safety training, in general, Caroline has pioneered a brand new approach towards managing the perennial problem of back injury. Called 'Back Track' this revolutionary solution to reducing back injuries, has already seen the number of reported events, across Eden schools, drop by a whopping 20%.
